Organizational strategy is typically stated in terms of financial and customer related strategic objectives. Operational (People, Process and Technology) related strategic objectives are often missing or underrepresented in a strategic plan. However, operational strategic objectives inform the identification of strategic initiatives that achieve the organizational strategic plan.
The focus of Part 2 (STX2) of the workshop is on: 1) Identifying and defining strategic objectives at the operational layers of the organization to achieve the financial and customer related strategic objectives; 2) Identifying the current strategic initiatives supporting the operational objectives; and 3) Identifying and analyzing the problems/barriers in achieving the operational objectives.
Participants from Strategy Execution Workshop Part 1 (Owning Strategic Alignment) plus any additional stakeholders that can provide additional insight into the strategic initiatives that support the strategic objectives.
